Angela is an accomplished vocalist, pianist, musician, and songwriter whom I admire and respect. She makes lessons fun and music understandable. Angela's range of knowledge and her wide variety of motivational training methods and techniques far surpass any I've experienced with other professional coaches over the last few decades.
Voice is intensely personal because you are the instrument. When I first started voice lessons with Angela in 2015, I wished to discover my personal style and sound, to develop vocal agility, to be comfortable and skilled in freestyle worship, to advance my skill in reading sheet music and chord charts, to reawaken my songwriting skills, and to be able to speak to other musicians using musical terms correctly. Last year I worked up the courage to go see a laryngologist and discovered I have vocal fold scarring from my time singing professionally in the 80s and 90s. The doctor said she was surprised at my extensive range and vocal ability, explained this was not typical of those who have vocal scarring, and said it was testament to the exceptional training I had been receiving from Angela. Through the whole journey Angela has been guiding me in sight reading, smoothing out the transition from lower to higher register, agility, navigating vocal breakthroughs, and so much more. My piano lessons are also amazing! We started piano lessons in 2016 and we work on theory, ear training, and reading different forms of music notation like sheet music and chord charts. Learning piano has made a significant impact on my vocal skills too!
Angela is the professional coach and teacher who has taken me far beyond where I thought I could go.
